Another requirement is a summary of my work in Nepal. Well, for those of you really curious about the technicalities, here's a glimpse of it:
I served as data analyst/management intern at the Nepal Nutrition Intervention Project Sarlahi (NNIPS) Headquarters Office at Kathmandu Nepal for 10 weeks. I handle several small projects related to ensuring the quality of data and research flow of this phase of the project, summarized as below:
1. Worker-by-Worker Morbidity comparison: create reports in Crystal Report to analyze the prevalence of clusters of morbidity data classified having “flu-like symptoms” (based on certain algorithms) among different workers.
2. Small for Gestational Age (SGA) analysis: create reports using Crystal Report and SQL to analyze the birth weight of infants at ranges of gestational ages, grouped by infant condition, worker ID etc.
3. Missing/incorrect forms for adverse events: When an adverse event happens, certain forms have to be entered in order to log the event. I identified unlogged and incorrectly logged adverse events in the project database so the appropriate measures can be taken.
4. Recovering the primary key for an unsynchronized specimen form: I wrote a series of algorithms to make the best guess for the primary key (ID) for flu specimens of the project. The forms were previously manually entered and unchecked. After the recovery this form is currently being incorporated into the streamlined data entry process.
